Four observations from a four-hour trip to see the Orioles' young prospects at Delmarva
It's a long trip to go see the Shorebirds, but all the nuggets gleaned on this particular journey felt worth sharing.
A mere glimpse of Heston Kjerstad during batting practice pregame Tuesday was worth the trip down to see Delmarva this week, but not everything gleaned from a drive like that ends up as its own story, per se.
Plenty of players on the Shorebirds roster caught my eye for various reasons, whether it was to hear staff or teammates talk about them or what happened on the field itself. I’m probably stepping on a story or two down the line in just quick-hitting these right now, but self-control has never been a strong suit on that front.
The sooner I write what I have in reserve, the sooner it’s time to go fill up the reserve. (Next week is an exception, as I’ll be out of town, but the reserve is plenty full for that.) So, in honor of the four hours round trip to see the Shorebirds Tuesday, here are four things I was glad to learn and am happy to pass along.
