Gunnar Henderson's rookie-year projections already put the young Orioles star in rare company
Prospect hype is one thing, but forecasts based on real data backing it up puts the Orioles' rookie on a different level.
It only makes sense that Gunnar Henderson, the Orioles’ and baseball’s No. 1 prospect in many estimations, is entering his rookie season with sky-high expectations.
He held his own after his August promotion to the majors and has all the markers of major league stardom, from his minor league track record and batted ball quality to his desire to improve and his makeup.
How good can he be? His public projections have his rookie season being one of the best for a player his age in a generation, and that type of forecast doesn’t take into account prospect hype. It certainly builds on it, though.
